The City of Lake Worth Beach General Election to be held on March 9, 2021.
It has been a longstanding tradition for the South Palm Park Neighborhood Association to host a candidates forum prior to Lake Worth Beach elections. The forum has always been well-received by residents of our neighborhood and the city of Lake Worth Beach. It has been an effective way to get to know the candidates, to gain some insight into their views on important issues, and to help residents cast an informed vote. It has also provided candidates an additional opportunity to connect with voters. Unfortunately, COVID-19 prevents us from having a traditional candidates forum.
In its place, and to keep the spirit of previous candidate forums alive, the SPPNA asked the candidates to participate in a brief candidates questionnaire. Some general notes about the responses:
· The questionnaire consists of 14 questions.
· Candidates were required to reply in writing, 200 words maximum, per question. If responses were more than 200 words, they have been truncated to 200 words per question.
· In addition to the required written response, candidates had the option to reply to any or all questions via video, 90 seconds maximum, per question. Video responses longer than 90 seconds per question were to be truncated to 90 seconds. While we didn’t have the ability to truncate video responses longer than 90 seconds, videos containing responses that run long are noted.
· All posted responses were submitted on time according to the deadlines provided.
· Each candidate will have the option to provide up to a total of three (3) rebuttals to other candidate responses.
· Rebuttals will be posted on the South Palm Park Neighborhood Association website (southpalmpark.org) and the South Palm Park Neighborhood Association private Facebook page (accessed only by South Palm Park Neighborhood Association members).
· Responses are grouped by seat, with incumbents listed first, followed by candidates listed alphabetically.
· Any errors or omissions are accidental and regretted.
· Thank you to all candidates for participating in the SPPNA Candidates Questionnaire, and thank you again for choosing to run in the upcoming Lake Worth Beach General Election.
