- President Rashkin thanked everyone for the participation in the Holiday Parade, the NACP float won for best float.
- Looking for 15 Volunteers per Neighborhood for the Taste of Lake Worth event to help pass out food, for an hour at a time. If volunteers are not available, would the membership donate $125.00 to sponsor t-shirts with our name for the event. This will be taken up at our next General Meeting.
-Yearly SPP Garage Sale- February 23rd: Participation price for this year is $10 and $13 on the day of to offset costs for advertising etc.
- Downtown block party is going well, SPPNA together with Bryant Park NA on March 1, 2019. Cheryl is looking for volunteers as well.
-Meet the Candidates scheduled for January 23rd at the Lake Worth Playhouse at 6:30.
-SPP Candidate Forum, scheduled for the General Meeting in February, :
-After much discussion, a motion was made by Nathalie Makepeace, seconded by Bob Rashkin to continue the SPP Candidate Forum rather than an informal ‘Meet the Candidates’ social. This motion unanimously passed.
-Lewis Makepeace with help from Chip Guthrie, Roberta Ides, and possibly David Chapnik will form questions. Questions will also be solicited from the General Membership
-We will take care of general business at the beginning of our meeting starting at 6:45 followed by the forum beginning at 7:05 and ending at 8:30.
-John Faust will be asked if we can borrow his sound system to improve acoustics in the room.
IV. Approval of Minutes- Minutes for the month of December were reviewed and accepted.

VI. Committees:
Social Committee: Nathalie Makepeace
- Next Full Moon Social – January 21st at 6:30PM, will include children’s and adult games
- Monthly movie nights- held on the first Saturday of the month, first one is scheduled for Feb 2nd
-PG movies will be shown
-Popcorn served
- Full Moon Socials for 2019
The intent is to continue the socials on a monthly basis throughout the year, a flyer is being considered that will list the dates for the year.
-Park Signs: Looking for more information on a park notice sign from Patrick Keith.
Communications – Ted Johnson “Director at Large’ assisted by Debra Tobias
- emails: Mel is working to finish creating the emails for the board, Pres.,VP, Block Directors.
- A place has been provided to keep the history of Agendas, Reap Grant information minutes etc.
- Newsletter - Chris Desario will do a test email for his proposed newsletter with dates etc. of activities in the city to supplement Meeting Minutes. This test email will first go to the Directors prior to the general membership.
Home/Yard of the Month – Jim Durban chair, Theresa Deveaux, and Art Broughton
For December, the committee the “Decorated House of the Year’” was STAR WARS AND MORE, 1409 South Palmway
January Home of the Month: 1221 South Palmway, home of Jennifer Zigarac and Alan Pestana
Nominations Committee: Lucy Richter with assistance from Linda Brower
The nominating committee provided the proposed 2019 slate to the Board. Lewis Makepeace moved to accept the slate, Art Broughton seconded the motion and the slate was approved. There was discussion surrounding previous election of officers where a motion was made to accept the slate as is rather than collecting individual votes. It was noted that if this was proposed and there was any opposition, the vote would be held at the next meeting.
Block Directors updates:
General information about homes being sold and new neighbors moving in was discussed. Of note was the report from the 10th block, Lewis Makepeace, that someone had been on his walkway and sleeping on his furniture. Installation of cameras and other deterrents was discussed. Also, it was reported that a new neighbor parking an RV at his home will build a fence according to code. The home at 820 South Lakeside will be demolished.

SPP business discussed:
- Signs for park closure times (sunset) need to be moved to a more visible location, and a sign stating that SPP is not a dog park is also needed.
- Concrete picnic table needs to be fixed
- Beach area needs to be cleaned
